Advertising Policy

This Advertising Policy provides the specific framework for all commercial and promotional activities within Star Mountain Publishing's operations. It is established in support of and in accordance with the core principles of editorial independence, transparency, and integrity outlined in our Cooperation Policy. Its purpose is to ensure that all such activities unambiguously support our scholarly mission and preserve the trust of our academic community.

Guiding Principles

All advertisements and marketing communications must:

  • Maintain a clear and unambiguous separation between independent scholarly work and commercial or promotional messages.
  • Guarantee that all advertisements and marketing communications are lawful, ethical, accurate, and non-deceptive.
  • Provide a curated platform for academic and scientific products or services relevant to our readership's professional interests.
  • Rigorously protect user privacy and comply with all applicable data protection regulations in every marketing initiative.

Advertisement Acceptance Criteria and Standards

Acceptance Criteria

The decision to accept any advertisement rests solely with the journal's editorial management. Priority is given to advertisements pertinent to the journal's specific scope and the broader academic research landscape.

Content and Presentation Standards

Authority and Process: All advertisement submissions are subject to pre-approval. Star Mountain Publishing reserves the right to reject, require revisions to, or withdraw any advertisement at any time. Editorial content and decisions are made free from any undue influence by commercial interests, advertisers, or sponsors, and are entirely separate from marketing considerations.

  • Clear Identification: Advertisements should be clearly distinguishable from the journal's own editorial content in both labeling and visual presentation, to avoid any potential reader confusion.
  • Contextual Relevance: Promoted products, services, or events should be pertinent to the journal's academic scope and align with the professional interests of its readership.
  • Substantive Accuracy: All claims are expected to be factual, verifiable, and presented in a manner that is not misleading, consistent with principles of fair competition.
  • Advertiser Accountability: The advertiser retains full responsibility for the content of their advertisement and for ensuring its compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Conflict of Interest and Disclosure: Advertisements must transparently disclose any potential conflicts of interest pertinent to the journal's field. The journal will refuse any advertisement that could create, or reasonably appear to create, a conflict of interest for the publication, its editors, peer reviewers, or affiliated institution.

Prohibited Content

Star Mountain Publishing prohibits advertisements that:

  • Contain libelous, defamatory, discriminatory, or offensive material, or violate individual privacy rights.
  • Promote alcohol, tobacco, firearms, gambling services, illegal substances, or services associated with "predatory" or unethical scholarly publishing practices.
  • Contain overt political advocacy or religious proselytizing unrelated to the journal's academic domain.
  • Include sexually explicit, graphically violent, or intentionally deceptive material.

Advertisement Placement

The Publisher retains exclusive authority over all placement decisions. Advertisements are confined to designated online areas (e.g., website sidebar, header/footer, dedicated landing pages) and will never be inserted into the full-text of academic articles, ensuring no disruption to the reading or archival experience. Placement is contingent upon contextual relevance and overall appropriateness for a scholarly audience.

Feedback and Updates

Concerns or complaints regarding any advertisement or marketing activity should be directed to the Editorial Office at: starry.liu224@gmail.com. All queries will be treated seriously and investigated promptly.

  • Receipt of a complaint will be acknowledged within five (5) business days.
  • A preliminary assessment will be conducted by the Publisher, in consultation with the Editor-in-Chief if necessary.
  • If a violation of this policy is found, the advertisement will be removed or corrected immediately.

This Advertising Policy is subject to regular review to ensure its ongoing relevance, effectiveness, and alignment with evolving best practices in academic publishing ethics. Significant updates will be communicated prominently on the journal's official website.
